Liz is a fifth-generation coaster, speaks fluent Zulu and, as you’d expect, knows this area intimately. Dave, meanwhile, is a trained chef, so there’s nothing amateurish about the cooking....

This handsome whitewashed home, with its verandahs and columns, reminded me of a well-to-do home in the deep cotton-pickin’ south of the United States. The green-grey rooms are simple and bright, with all the boutique hotel practicalities, fine linen and private terraces. ... The guest lounge is airy and bright, with its colonial, wicker, wing-backed chairs, books, DSTV and recycled Oregon pine floorboards.

In fact, this is one obliging, stress-free place, especially with             the salt-of-the-earth Pages, who made me feel so                     utterly welcome, at the helm.”
